This course explores key concepts related to the evaluation, assessment, and repair of deteriorated concrete structures in accordance with current industry practices and the provisions of ACI CODE‑562‑25: Code Requirements for Assessment, Repair, and Rehabilitation of Existing Concrete Structures. Through three presentations, participants will gain insights into historical concrete structures, practical case studies, and field-based evaluation techniques used when structural deterioration or distress is identified. The course highlights methods used to assess structural behavior, identify causes of deterioration, and develop repair strategies while maintaining structural serviceability and safety during the repair process.

  1. Identify methods used to evaluate the strength and condition of existing concrete structures, including load testing.
  2. Interpret structural response and field observations to assess deteriorated concrete elements.
  3. Recognize how evaluation results inform repair and rehabilitation decisions.
  4. Discuss current practices and emerging developments in the assessment of existing concrete structures.

Study the materials included in this module. Then, complete and pass the corresponding 10-question quiz with a score of 80% or higher to receive a certificate for 0.1 CEU (1.0 PDH).
