This webinar introduces dynamic foundation design for engineers who are more familiar with conventional static foundation analysis. The presentation focuses on the additional information, due diligence, input parameters, and analysis considerations needed when evaluating foundations subject to dynamic loading. This webinar is intended as an introductory overview and practical bridge from static foundation design to dynamic foundation design.

The webinar will discuss minimum requirements for static and dynamic foundation analysis, highlight key differences between static and dynamic design considerations, and identify available literature and guidance relevant to foundations for equipment and machinery. Applicable guidance from ACI PRC-351.3 will be referenced to help practitioners understand where to focus when beginning a dynamic foundation design.

  1. Identify input parameters required for dynamic foundation analysis.
  2. Describe minimum due diligence considerations for dynamic foundation design.
  3. Compare minimum static and dynamic analysis requirements for foundation design.
  4. Recognize available literature and ACI PRC-351.3 guidance relevant to dynamic foundation design
