The first part of this virtual seminar series introduces updates to the organization and general provisions of ACI 318-25, including coordination with ACI/PCI CODE-319 and ACI/PTI CODE-320, and updates to analysis and load combination provisions consistent with ASCE/SEI 7-22. The session also covers revisions to strut-and-tie provisions, changes to ϕ-factors for members with combined axial and bending loads, and the removal of the approximate method of Vc for prestressed members. Updates related to the addition of supplementary cementitious materials specifications and reference to ACI CODE-440.11 for GFRP bars will also be presented.

  1. Recognize the coordination of ACI 318-25 with ACI/PCI CODE-319 and ACI/PTI CODE-320.
  2. Identify updates to loads and load combinations consistent with ASCE/SEI 7-22.
  3. Review revisions to strut-and-tie modeling provisions.
  4. Explain changes to ϕ-factors for members with combined axial and bending loads.
  5. Discuss updates related to supplementary cementitious materials and reference to ACI CODE-440.11.
