The third part of this virtual seminar series presents ACI 318-25 updates related to sustainability, performance-based wind design, and provisions affecting structural systems and detailing. Topics include new appendices on sustainability and resilience and on performance-based wind design, revisions and clarifications to one-way shear equations, provisions for interface shear reinforcement, and refinements to beam integrity reinforcement. Additional updates include new limits for openings in coupling beams, reorganization of Chapter 15 on cast-in-place joints, and the inclusion of deep foundation provisions coordinated with IBC requirements.
  1. Review the new appendices on sustainability, resilience, and performance-based wind design.
  2. Identify revisions and clarifications to one-way shear equations.
  3. Describe refinements to beam integrity and interface shear reinforcement provisions.
  4. Discuss limits for openings in coupling beams and related design considerations.
  5. Recognize inclusion of IBC deep foundation provisions, including seismic requirements.
Study the materials included in this module. Then, complete and pass the corresponding 10-question quiz with a score of 80% or higher to receive a certificate for 0.2 CEU (2.0 PDH).
