This course contains two presentations. The first presentation provides an overview on epoxy technology and applications where it is used. The second presentation covers silane and siloxane (organosilicon treatments) and how they are used to protect concrete surfaces exposed to moisture.
1. Name three main types of epoxies and how they are structured.
2. Describe the applications in which epoxies are used.
3. Describe differences between silicon, silane, and siloxane (or silicone).
4. Explain how silanes bond with concrete and change the chemistry of the concrete surface.
