Course Overview
You learned the basics of concrete materials in your introductory course in college. Now, take home some additional design skills you probably did not see there. The goal of this course is to take a closer look at concrete mixture designs that incorporate fiber-reinforcement. The intended audience for this course is senior undergraduate students, graduate students, young professionals, and practitioners looking for continuing education.
Learning Objectives
1. Calculate the moment capacity of fiber reinforced concrete (FRC) sections using residual strength parameters.
2. Identify the different types of fibers used in FRC, including steel, synthetic, and hybrid blends.
3. Analyze residual strength data obtained from standardized testing of FRC specimens.
4. Evaluate the use of FRC in structural applications using case studies and performance criteria.
Instructions
Study the materials included in this module. Then, complete and pass the corresponding 10-question quiz with a score of 80% or higher to receive a certificate for 0.15 CEU (1.5 PDH).
