This module is based on two documents. “Concrete Repair by Shotcrete Application," is intended as a voluntary field guide for the owner, design professional, and concrete repair contractor interested in preparation of surfaces, equipment used and selection of materials for shotcrete applications. This document was developed by ACI Committee E706 and approved by the ACI Educational Activities Committee. This document is supplemented with CCS-4(08), "Shotcrete for the Craftsman," (Chapter 4 and Chapter 8), an educational document intended for the nozzleman, however the information is relevant to other people involved in the planning and execution of a shotcrete application.
1. Define shotcrete.
2. Recognize the differences between the two main types of shotcrete.
3. Understand when a shotcrete application can be used for a repair.
4. Describe the necessary surface preparations for a successful repair.
Read and study the materials included in this module. Then, complete and pass the corresponding 10-question quiz with a score of 80% or higher to receive a certificate for 0.1 CEU (1.0 PDH).
