This is a recorded webinar series from May 13,14, 2024.
This webinar series is for Engineers, and designers involved in the design of concrete slabs-on-ground. Instructors will review theoretical background for analytical procedures, geotechnical considerations for supporting base and subgrade, thickness design, design examples, detailing and specifications to include in contract documents, and contract administration.

This course provides 7.5 hours of content divided into two 3.75-hour modules.
Part 1— Design of Concrete Slabs-on-Ground
1. Compare various joint types and load transfer methods.
2. Summarize the theoretical background for current analytical procedures and design aids.
3. Discuss design examples for unreinforced slabs, shrinkage compensating concrete, post-tensioned slabs, and use of conventional and fiber reinforcement.
4. Identify causes, effects and mitigation of shrinkage and curling.
