This webinar introduces attendees to cements used for concrete construction. Cementitious materials bind aggregate and reinforcement into hardened concrete members and structures used for infrastructure and all types of residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Covering manufacture, properties, and specifications, E3-2025, Cementitious Materials for Concrete, serves as the basis for the webinar content and is developed by Education Committee E701, which distills information from other ACI technical committees to create documents intended for new industry members and others who require an introduction to materials used for reinforced concrete construction.

1. Describe the manufacturing processes of portland and blended cements used in concrete construction.
2. Identify the chemical and physical characteristics of cement that influence engineering performance and durability.
3. Recognize the most commonly used cement types and their corresponding standard specifications.
4. Explain the testing procedures used to verify cement quality and performance.

Study the materials included in this module. Then, complete and pass the corresponding 10-question quiz with a score of 80% or higher to receive a certificate for 0.1 CEU (1.0 PDH).
