This is a recorded webinar from July 21, 2015.

The ACI 122R-14 guide reports data on the thermal properties of concrete and masonry constituents, masonry units, and systems of materials and products that form building components. The guide includes consideration of thermal inertia of concrete and masonry, passive solar design, and procedures to limit condensation within assemblages. This webinar will give an introduction and overview of the newly revised Guide.
1. Identify factors that influence the thermal conductivity of concrete and concrete products.
2. Describe the methods (series method, parallel path methods, and isothermal planes method) for calculating thermal properties of building assemblies.
3. Explain the concept of thermal inertia and the impact it has on the heat transfer through concrete and masonry.
4. Understand the relationship between thermal resistance and condensation.
Study the materials included in this module. Then, complete and pass the corresponding 10-question quiz with a score of 80% or higher to receive a certificate for 0.1 CEU (1.0 PDH).
