ACI CODE-562-25 is the fifth edition of the Code for the Assessment, Repair and Rehabilitation of Concrete Structures. This introductory presentation will briefly review the history of the development of the ACI 562 Code, with emphasis on the new chapters and developments in the new edition. Key updates include the addition of Chapter 8 on reinforcement details, major revisions to the design provisions, and new chapters addressing repair techniques, performance under elevated temperatures, and supplemental reinforcement. Through case studies and design examples, the webinar will highlight how these provisions can be applied in practice.
1. Recognize the evolution of the ACI 562 Code and become aware of new material in the latest edition.
2. Determine development and splice lengths for historical reinforcement.
3. Learn how to apply the provisions of Chapter 9 of ACI CODE-562-25 to the design of strengthening of existing concrete structures.
4. Apply new provisions in the design chapter, including section enlargement, prestressed concrete repair, and supplemental reinforcement.
