This course provides a detailed exploration of ACI CODE-562-25 and supporting guidance for the assessment and rehabilitation of existing concrete structures. Through Part 2 focused presentations, participants examine key provisions introduced or expanded in the 2025 code cycle, including evaluation of existing reinforcement, repair design requirements, durability and service-life considerations, temporary works during rehabilitation, and the use of statistical methods for structural assessment. The course emphasizes practical application of code intent, engineering judgment, and risk-informed decision-making in real-world concrete repair projects.

  1. Describe the intent, scope, and major updates of ACI CODE-562-25 as they relate to assessment and rehabilitation of existing concrete structures.
  2. Evaluate existing reinforcement and apply repair design concepts in accordance with Chapter 8 and Chapter 9 provisions.
  3. Identify durability mechanisms and service-life considerations, including the role of temporary works during concrete rehabilitation.
  4. Explain the purpose and basic application of statistical assessment methods for evaluating variability and reliability in existing concrete structures.
